* Standard Break-off

This break-off is a standard with all holdout men. As mentioned in GSOH, it's also known as a 'machine break-off' as the move positions the stolen card for many holdout devices (the shirt, slick sleeve, bean-shooter, etc.), but it's also a common move without the aid of a device. When asked about break-offs, I always advise starting with this move, then expanding one's repertoire. The handling can be modified in different ways and can also be used to cop multiple cards. I especially like the ending position with the fingers of both hands slightly spread.
