Natural Strikes

FALSE DEALS - chapter 5, false deals, page 381

Note the movement of the left thumb. When it starts on the left side of the deck and ends on the left side, in my view, an openness and casualness is created that distinguishes the move from standard strike seconds—where the left thumb generally stays glued to the top card. The action epitomizes what I call the 'natural second deal.' The method is essentially a strike second on the fly as the left thumb must move from the left side to contact the top card at the right spot for the strike, then immediately retracts to its starting position on the left side of the deck.
