Hold-back

SHUFFLES & CUTS - chapter 2, page 195

The hold-back overhand false shuffle is as good as any I have seen. It's deceptive, flexible, easy to do, and it will emulate any shuffling sequence without any visible breaks on the upper side during the shuffle. It's also perfect for 'shuffle-cuts' (undercut and throw on top, an action that is common with this style of shuffling). The sequence ends with a cut, but there are other options depending on whether the goal is to bring the slug back to the top or lay a brief.
