This switch is essentially a 'slide-off' but with a different handling for the cut. It's a good example of how a minor change in handling can create a new method, which is arguably better than the 'standard slide-off' described on page 544 because the deck is grabbed by the left hand (the expected default action) and cut with the left hand (also the default action) slightly off the table.
