The advantage of carrying a slug with an out-jog is that there are no discernable breaks during the shuffle, which is in stark contrast to the visible jog/break created by jog-shuffles. With only a slight, invisible, pinching action of the shuffled cards as described in GSOH, all cards below the slug can be deceptively and effortlessly undercut and legitimately shuffled to carry the bottom slug. Utilizing an out-jog to carry a bottom slug with the overhand shuffle is a good move . . . and arguably better than using an in-jog.
