Spin-pong Hop

BEATING THE CUT - chapter 4, page 317

The 'spin-pong' and 'fingertip shift' are the two most requested videos in this genre. The idea of spinning one half of the deck 180 degrees to facilitate reversing the cut is an authentic, viable, card-table action with several variations. A variation of the classic 'ping-pong shift,' which I call a hop because part of the deck remains on the table during the move, offers a unique attribute. This is that the spinning action can be done with more all-around cover and in less space than the traditional move.
