Top/Bottom Riffle Demo . . . first phase

STUNTS - chapter 9, page 857

One reader asked if I was obsessed with 'transfers' (moving cards from the top to bottom and vice versa). I don't think "obsessive" is the right word, but I have found countless applications for these moves. Here's a short sequence I do all the time.

Toss the aces on top of the deck and create a small bevel-brief on the right end. Square up and get a break under the aces with the right thumb. Split about twenty cards to the right and riffle the aces about one-third down into the deck. You need to retain the break so you'll not be able to riffle the entire half, so just lower the upper part of the right half to complete the riffle. Square the halves retaining the break—this is awkward at first but will become easy with practice. Split at the break to the right and riffle the aces first to end.
